We are going global again! We’ve reached out to our friends in the global culinary community and have invited them to Vancouver. The result? Five of the world’s culinary best join us for a series of delicious collaborations with our own city’s top talent.

Heritage Asian Eatery Executive Chef and Owner Felix Zhou reunites with friend and former chef mentor Warren Geraghty of Rhubarb Hospitality Group (UK). The two accomplished culinary stars first met working on the line at Vancouver’s acclaimed West Restaurant and later teamed up again across the pond at Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin La Chapelle in London. During this one-night-only event, Zhou and Geraghty will work in tandem to prepare an internationally inspired multi-course tasting menu that showcases their respective global experiences.

This is an exciting addition to our World Chef Exchange series, as Felix was our very first Chef Exchange participant in 2015. Through the exchange, Felix travelled to Brighton & Hove Food & Wine Festival, which also lead to a pop-up lunch in London where he worked closely with Warren to create a memorable dining experience.

    About Executive Chef Felix Zhou
A rising star in Vancouver’s culinary scene, Felix Zhou honed his skills at a number of acclaimed restaurants both locally and internationally before deciding to embark on his first solo foray at Heritage Asian Eatery.

After a turn as chef de partie at Vancouver’s West Restaurant and Bar in 2007, Felix moved on to ply his trade at Market by Jean-Georges at the Shangri-La Hotel before venturing overseas to perfect his craft at Michelin-starred Roganic and Galvin La Chapelle in London, UK. In 2014, he returned to the West Coast to take on the role of Executive Sous Chef at Whistler’s Nita Lake Lodge, and most recently presided as Executive Chef at a number of notable local restaurants including The Parker, Big Trouble Chinatown and Beach Bay Café.

From an early age, Felix developed an appreciation for the time-honoured traditions of using quality, local ingredients, experimenting with various flavour profiles and leaving nothing to waste that were bestowed upon him by his mother and grandparents in his family’s kitchen as a young boy in China. After re-locating to Vancouver at the age of 10, Felix took those sage lessons to heart and pursued his Red Seal certificate at Vancouver Community College, graduating in 2007 and launching a culinary career that would make his forbears proud, while crafting a reputation as a nuanced and polished culinary talent.

Since opening in the fall of 2016, Heritage Asian Eatery has been recognized in numerous local and international publications, including The New York Times, National Geographic, New Weekly (China), The Globe and Mail, Vancouver Sun and Montecristo. The restaurant earned first place in the ‘Pork Belly Bao’ category at the 2017 Chinese Restaurant Awards and Felix took home the grand prize at the 2017 Curry Cup.

    About Warren Geraghty
Warren Geraghty brings over 25 years of experience to his role as Culinary Director at rhubarb, a premium hospitality group based in the U.K. He leads the culinary teams across rhubarb’s portfolio and is responsible for the kitchen team and menu development across the business, including the upcoming openings at Hudson Yards in New York.

Warren previously served as Group Executive Chef at Galvin Restaurants and Director of Galvin Pub Co., where he worked alongside the Galvin brothers to deliver restaurants in London, Scotland, Dubai along with the creation of their pub company and the opening of the Centurion golf club

Additional roles include chef positions at some of the UK’s most reputable hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants including L’Escargot & Picasso room, Halkin Hotel with Gaultiero Marchessi, Pied à Terre, The Orrery, The Greenhouse & Chez Nico. Warren was also head chef in Cannes at Restaurant Neat with Richard Neat where they received a Michelin star in the first year making it the first English chef led restaurant in France to do so.

During his time in Canada, Warren held the role of executive chef of West Restaurant in Vancouver. While here, he fell in love the West Coast and its wonderful regional produce and people.
