    Vancouver’s new culinary hot spot Giovane Bacaro will welcome award-winning Toronto chef Rob Gentile, along with pasta chef David Marcelli and Phantom Creek’s Sarah Fiore, as the chefs join Giovane chef Scott Korzack and take over the kitchen for one night of culinary excellence: a multi-course dinner featuring fresh shellfish, rare pastas, decadent truffles and much more.

    About Chef Rob Gentile

    Chef Rob Gentile’s inherent passion for food emerged when he enrolled in George Brown’s esteemed Culinary School. After years of honing his craft and working his way up the ranks, he joined Buca as Executive Chef in 2009, propelling it to notoriety in Canada’s dining scene. Since the opening of Buca’s first location, the group of restaurants received numerous accolades, such as being named to Canada’s 100 Best year after year, with Buca Osteria & Bar (Yorkville) being named second in the country (2016), and honours from the Ontario Hostelry Institute’s Gold Award for Independent Restaurateur (2015).

    Chef Rob Gentile cemented his position as one of Canada’s most renowned chefs with his disciplined craft, dedication to sourcing local, seasonal ingredients, and his visionary approach to Italian cuisine. With a devout commitment to learning the classic methods of Italian cuisine, Chef Rob Gentile travels straight to the source, meeting and working with the finest, local professionals around the world.

    Chef Rob Gentile is married and has a young daughter. He uses food as a way to bond and introduce a new generation to cooking and sourcing ingredients, an important part of his culinary philosophy.

    He is featured as a chef judge on Food Network Canada’s Wall of Chefs and currently works as an Ambassador at ChefDrop, developing the platform and assisting with content creation.
