WHISTLER PRIDE & SKI FESTIVAL

GayWhistler’s Whistler Pride and Ski Festival, the largest festival of its kind in North America, is a celebration of diversity both on and off the slopes of the award winning Whistler/Blackcomb mountains. Imagine over 3,000 gay men and women from 26 nations coming together to explore the incredible 8,176 acres (3308 hectares) of pure skiing and riding bliss during the day and celebrating nightly with social mixers and top notch entertainment programming. A year round destination for gay and lesbian travelers with a love for winter sport.

Located just 120KM (75 miles) north of the city of Vancouver you will travel along one of the most spectacular highways in the world, the Sea to Sky Highway 99. The short 90-minute journey takes you from the lush green coastal city along the stunning Fjord of Howe Sound and soon the snow line gradually greets you as you make your way to the resort of Whistler.

Whistler has a culture that embraces diversity of all people and works hard to ensure all of the spaces are safe and inclusive. Whistler was the birthplace of the Pride House movement at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Pride House was a pavilion that celebrated LGBT athletes, culture and arts and dared to speak openly and honestly about the homophobia within the sporting culture. Whistler Pride now celebrating 25 years of diversity has official civic status from the Resort Municipality of Whistler with an official Pride Proclamation from the mayor.

The eight-day festival combines sports, culinary, wellness, social and cultural events.

SPORTS: Every day during the festival an army of volunteer ski and snowboard guides are ready to guide guests around the mammoth mountains of Whistler Blackcomb. Placing guests into similar skiing/riding abilities ensures everyone has a great time. Other sporting events include Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, inner tubing and even bobsled and skeleton!

CULINARY: Whistler has some of the best restaurants both on and off the slopes in the world. Choose from fine dining to casual, progressive dinners, wine tastings to wine pairing and more.

WELLNESS: Whistler has award winning spas like the Scandinave Spa, a 20,000 square foot outdoor spa surrounded by forest and stunning mountain views. WestCoast Float a sensory depravation chamber to help reset after a long flight or detox/reset after a hard day on the mountain or dance floor!

CULTURE | PARTIES: Whistler Pride has something for everyone. From mega dance parties, to intimate cocktail parties, to live music, to comedy. This festival doesn't disappoint!
